Donald Trump, Jr. took a swipe at Democrats after Republican Karen Handel won Georgia’s special election for its sixth district on Tuesday.

Democrats were hoping to score a victory in Georgia’s sixth district after Trump only carried the GOP vote by 2 points in November.
Handel will be the first Republican congresswoman in Georgia’s history. Karen Handel outperformed polls and beat Ossoff by 3.8 percentage points—51.9 percent to 48.1 percent—in the most expensive House race in history.
Republicans prevailed in special elections also in South Carolina’s fifth congressional district. In South Carolina, Republican Ralph Norman defeated Democrat Archie Parnell. The Democratic Party appeared to be energized by grassroots activists with their numerous marches against President Donald Trump. But the energized base has yet to translate into electoral victories for Democratic candidates. Democrats have now lost four special congressional elections in Montana, Kansas, South Carolina, and Georgia since the 2016 presidential race.
