After returning to the US from Paris, President Donald Trump left the crowds in an awe when he showed up unannounced at the Women’s U.S. Open which took place at New Jersey Golf Club. But despite winning over the attention of the crowds, it was Melania who was the true winner when it came to the hearts of the attendants.
Melania, 47, joined her husband yesterday and was pictured walking around the grounds and spending time watching from the presidential box.
The First Lady wore a white sleeveless dress to the occasion which featured a crew neck and laser cut detailing at the bottom.
She wore a pair of statement pink heels to add a pop of colour and shielded her eyes from the sun with a pair of thick black aviator sunglasses.
Melania usually wears her hair with a centre parting, but changed things up for her appearance at the weekend with a side parting and sweeping fringe.
The former model appears to be a fan of sleeveless high neck dresses at the moment.
Last week, Melania and Donald were invited to Paris to join in with Bastille Day celebrations.
The First Lady decided to wear a floral print dress for the occasion which featured her favourite high neck and sleeveless combination.
Her attendance at the US Open alone was enough to immediately catch the eyes of photographers who seemed to have focused more on her, than on the players or President Trump. Some of the players even felt at unease and under pressure when they realized that the FLOTUS was attending their game.
Chinese golfer Shanshan Feng told the Times she knew the cheering was not for her as she approached the 15th green, but she didn’t know what it was for.
“I heard people like kind of screaming so that’s what I was trying to find out, like why they were screaming,” Feng said.
“But I was still really focusing on my game. I didn’t really get distracted.”
The Times reported that the women welcomed the president’s presence at the event, he is the first sitting president to attend, because it will increase the attention the event receives.
Many find it surprising how Melania manages being the first lady, a mother and a role-model for elegance, style and behavior at the same time, all while finding the time to blow off some steam and watch a golf game.
