President Trump hosted a law enforcement reception to thank them for their service. President Trump gave a big “thank you” to law enforcement officials at a ceremony Sunday, but none bigger than to FBI Director James Comey — the man many credit with giving Trump the White House.
It was Comey who waited until the last minute to reopen an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, an 11th-hour probe Democrats say help cost Clinton the election. Days later, Comey once again cleared Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server, but by then, critics said, the damage was already done.
Trump called Comey over and give the director a handshake and a big back pat before whispering something in his ear.
