After unverified reports surfaced that President-elect Donald Trump once had Russian prostitutes urinate on each other in front of him on a bed the Obamas previously shared, the #GoldenShowerGate #PissGate and #GoldenShowers hashtags shot up the trending charts on Twitter.
How it all started?
On Tuesday, CNN published an article stating that US intelligence officials presented a two-page synopsis of classified documents, which included claims that Russian operatives have compromising personal and financial information about Trump, to the president elect and President Barack Obama. The information was included as an annex to the classified version of the report prepared by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence on Russian influence on the 2016 presidential election, CNN reported.
Later in the day, John McCain passes the dossier alleging secret Trump-Russia contacts to FBI and i also leaks it to Buzzfeed News who published the entire set of memos, which were purportedly “prepared for political opponents of Trump by a person who is understood to be a former British intelligence agent.” The dossier had been circulating among elected officials, journalists and the intelligence community for weeks, according to Buzzfeed’s Ken Bensinger.
Included in the report was the accusation that Trump has “personal obsessions and sexual perversion,” including for graphic sex acts.
In the annex is stated that while staying at the Moscow Ritz Carlton, Trump reportedly requested the presidential suite, where he knew Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama had previously stayed during an official trip to Russia. His conduct there included “defiling the bed where they had slept by employing a number of prostitutes to perform a ‘golden shower’ (urination) show in front of him,” the documents said.
Buzzfeed decided to publish the documents, even though they could not verify them, making explosive — but unverified — allegations that the Russian government has been “cultivating, supporting and assisting” President-elect Donald Trump for years and gained compromising information about him.

Even though BuzzFeed decided to publish it without verifying it, some journalists stayed away, having doubts about the alleged affirmations authenticity.
1. For those asking, I didn’t publish the full memos from the intelligence operative because I could not confirm the allegations.

Some jumped on the bait heads first, like #nevertrump voice Rick Wilson who later on twitter, stating that the report “gave a new meaning to Wikileaks”.
And then something magical happened: the scheme to force Trumps to move aside and relinquish his presidency (by invoking the 25th Amendment of the Constitution) all felt to pieces by a piece of information coming from, wait for it, NOT OTHER SOURCE THAN 4chan:

4chan trolled Rick Wilson with the Trump piss story back in November 2016. Media or CIA added Russian spies themselves. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. pic.twitter.com/BFJDvzcgbf

The remarkable thing? Not only was fake; it’s a prank perpetuated by 4chan, on Rick Wilson himself.
A post on 4chan on October 26 stated “mfw managed to convince CTR and certain (((journalists))) on Twitter there’ll be an October surprise on Trump this Friday” along with a picture of a smug face with a hash name. http://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/94704894/#94705224
On November 1, a person without a picture but is assumed to be the same person posted “So they took what I told Rick Wilson and added a Russian spy angle to it. They still believe it. Guys, they’re truly fucking desperate – there’s no remaining Trump scandal that’s credible.” https://archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/95568919/#95571329
On january 10, moments after the story broke and began to gain traction on social media, a person with the same smug grin face, and the same hash title for the picture, stated “I didn’t think they’d take it so far.” http://boards.4chan.org/pol/thread/106514445#p106520376
This story has taken on something of a life of it’s own. Going through Rick Wilson’s twitter, you can find many different stories from the time that he had shown the story to a wide number of anti-trump news sources, trying to find a news organization that would actually publish the story. During that time period, he referred to it often as ‘the thing’, and often playing coy with followers on the content with the story with anybody who was not also a #Nevertrumper. Unconfirmed sources has people as high up as John McCain giving the story to FBI Director James Comey to attempt to verify the story. Given that Rick Wilson runs in Establishment circles, it is not an impossible scenario that long-serving senators are falling for what amounts to a 4chan troll trump supporter creating an ironic October Surprise out of wholecloth to punk a GOPe pundit who derogatorily referred to them as single men who masturbate to anime.

The day @CIA lost every single ounce of credibility. #Wilson #McCain #McMullin pic.twitter.com/ayAAaFrmp2— PA Duverney (@PADuverney) January 11, 2017
While this entire incident is laughable, and even more so if the 4Chan account is accurate, what makes it quite tragic, is that it is no longer possible to dismiss the “fake news” angle to an intelligence report. And if the CIA is compromised, what is left for “news outlets” like CNN and BuzzFeed, which were all too eager to run with the story without any attempt at verification?
