NYT praises globalist European gun control, calls for “stronger federal control”

Establishment newspaper praises unelected globalists deciding gun control laws

The New York Times editorial board has published a new piece in which they call the European Union “more courageous” than the United States for passing stricter gun control measures.

The editorial, essentially a lovefest for globalist inspired tyranny, makes clear once again that many in the corporate media are full on gun grabbers who will continue to push their agenda to the masses.

It reads:

The European Union, to its credit, has agreed on a series of proposals for tighter gun controls as a timely response to the growing threat of terrorism and mass shootings. The proposals, which are headed toward a final vote by members next year, would extend bans on semiautomatic assault weapons to more models, institute medical checks for gun buyers, tighten sales on the internet and track the resale of guns to foil black-market dealers.

Europe’s move against high-powered weapons adapted from the battlefield stands in contrast to the evasiveness of Washington political leaders on the obvious need for stronger federal gun controls. In obeisance to America’s gun lobby, Congress has sidestepped votes on gun safety despite strong public desire driven by repeated mass shootings. Republican leaders have even shied away from proposals to deny gun sales to people on the government’s terrorist watch lists.

Not only is the Times declaring an “obvious need for stronger federal gun control” they are also ignoring key facts in the debate such as the fact that thousands of US citizens have been put on terror watch lists for little to no reason and have no way of fighting to get off of them. If the Times got their way, these American citizens would have their second amendment rights straight up taken away with almost no due process.

As AWR Hawkins wrote for Breitbart, “The editorial board does not mention the draconian gun bans and registration schemes that swept through European nations in the late 20th century nor the steady march of new gun controls that followed those bans and schemes. The board does not stop to ask why the bans themselves failed so miserably that they must now be extended and why universal background checks–so lauded by leftists in the U.S.–have proved to be no hindrance to a determined attacker.”

Its also extremely telling that the Times would openly support the globalist European Union when the election of Donald Trump literally just happened. Remember, the entire mainstream media spent months upon months attacking Trump and he won the election on a wave of populism and anti-globalist anger.

This open call for European Union type gun control in America is yet another reminder that a vast majority of the media is in full support of the agenda that America just voted against.
